made the ranch special was Grandma and Grandpa. Without them, the huge slices of apple pie lost their flavor, the horses lost their canter, and the swing lost its magic.
Heaven, too, will offer many great things to do: riding rhinos, flying to planets, eating the biggest, juiciest apples you ever sank your teeth into. But the best thing about heaven will be spending time with Jesus.
That’s what the apostle John tells us. In Revelation 21 he wrote: “I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. . . . And I heard a loud voice from the
throne saying, ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away’” (Revelation 21:2-4, NIV).
