Another way to think about death is to imagine a long nap. Let’s look at the story of Jesus and Lazarus again. Jesus said to the disciples, “ ‘Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.’ Then His disciples said, ‘Lord, if he sleeps he will get well’ ” (John 11:11, 12).
